I find it easier to take pictures of flowers. They won't move, or lose patience with you if you take too long.

i've been up and down lately...
especially about my job.
i want to say that i love my job...but i can't. i know there's something better for me out there than working multiple 12 hour days (the record is 5)...if you can call it "working"...the stuff i'm doing isn't mentally challenging. it's physically straining...
12 hours driving up and down a construction site making sure they are complying to federal and state laws.
90+ degree weather, dusty roads and sometimes rude construction crews...
my supervisor schedules it, and then he complains that i shouldn't do so much over time... (O_o)...confused much sir?
anyways, i'm trying to stay positive. i know i'm really lucky right now, with the economy being the way it is...
it is an easy job...i basically get paid for driving, sitting on my ass, and spying. hah...
i really hope it'll get better...
ok done.
I've never been so angry at work before...
This job experience is making me a more jaded person.
What ever happened to looking out for people? Instead, it's do everything within your power to cover your OWN ass...even talk shit about your own co workers.
Maybe I'm naive and innocent...but my pass work experience was nothing like this one.
Wildlife biologists don't get the respect we deserve, especially in a construction site where everyone is SUPER conservative...
The plus side...I've started to study for GREs again...hopefully change my job profession to an environmental planner.
It's getting hot here in Davis/Sacramento...about 75 degrees hot, in Spring. I'm scared for summer...100+ degrees...and I'll be out in the field baking. Getting my farmer's tan on (ewww).

Clay soils expand when wet...crack when dry
Lightning is teething...

So he did this to my poor innocent GPS charger...

My GPS was on my desk, and he somehow got to it...
But, I can't stay mad at him for long...I mean, look at that face!

On Sunday, while I was mowing the lawn, a mosquito bit me on my right elbow.
Two days later, my entire right arm is swollen from my elbow to my wrist. I can't wear a watch anymore.
These mosquitos here in Davis/Sac area are different from the ones in San Francisco. These bites leave me in pain...it feels like my arm is going to fall off.
I'm a field biologist in Sacramento...I do surveys around the river...I'm going to be eaten alive.

As you can see, my arm is swollen...and that was just from ONE mosquito bite on my elbow!
The new addition to the family.
